Scarlett Johansson’s tattoo has a secret message.
The screen beauty has a sunrise etched onto the inside of her left arm, but insists she will never reveal the special meaning of it.
Scarlett – who is married to Ryan Reynolds – said: “I’ve had the tattoo of a sunrise on my arm for a while. It makes me happy when I look at it, but the reason I had it done is very personal. Some things have to remain private.”
The 25-year-old actress loves experimenting with new looks and was thrilled when she had to dye her hair red for her role as a Russian spy in “Iron Man 2″ – in which she stars alongside Gwyneth Paltrow, Robert Downey Jr. and Mickey Rourke.
She added: “I play Black Widow in ‘Iron Man 2′ and I had to dye my hair red to audition, which I loved. When I met the producers the second time I still had red hair because I was hoping they’d cast me, but also because I was experimenting with my hair color.”

Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry and Megan Fox get new tattoos to show their love
Katy Perry and Russell Brand are hoping their love is permanent — because their matching tattoos certainly are.
The sexy singer flashed her new ink Tuesday in New York while performing on top of a car to promote the new 2011 Volkswagen Jetta.
Raising her arms over her head, Perry revealed a Sanskrit tattoo identical to the one Brand showed off this month on the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine.
The inscription, which reads Anuugacchati Pravaha, is said to mean Go with The Flow.

The lovebirds aren’t the only ones showing their affection through body art. Miley Cyrus just added to her tattoo collection by getting the word ‘LOVE’ inscribed inside of her ear, a possible nod to her Australian boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, who she has been gushing about since 2009.
Even Megan Fox, who just announced her engagement to Brian Austin Green, is sporting a telltale tattoo – the brunette bombshell says she went under the needle to pay tribute to Mickey Rourke.
“I actually got a tattoo that is sort of in honour of him,” she told MTV.com. “I just love him very much and think he’s very special.”Fox’s tattoo is said to read, “Those who danced were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music” and comes from a quote by poet Angela Monet.
Tight-lipped celebrities regularly use their body ink to speak for them. In April reports swirled that rumored couple Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner had confirmed their relationship with matching tattoos, though pictures never surfaced.
But sometimes tattoos can last longer than relationships. In 2008, rollercoaster couple Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson reportedly got matching black heart tattoos to affirm their commitment to each other, though their love affair ultimately came to an explosive end.
Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline were photographed sporting matching dice tattoos on their arms — pink for her, blue for him — before they ended up battling it out in divorce court.
And Angelina Jolie, queen of relationship ink, has had to etch over plenty of past decisions. Before she and Billy Bob Thornton exchanged tattoos of each other’s names, Jolie and first husband Johnny Lee Miller reportedly had matching Japanese characters inscribed.
Jolie later replaced Thornton’s name with tattoos signifying the birthplace of her children.Types of Nose Piercings
Nostril – this is the most common place for a nose piercing. The jewelry is placed somewhere along the rim of the nostril, either on the left or the right side of the nose. There is no significance or meaning to which side you get pierced, it’s just your own preference. Anything you hear to the contrary is just urban myth. A ring or stud is best for starting but make sure the jewelry is not too tight to the nose if it is a stud. That can lead to healing problems.
Septum – these piercings are placed in the cartilage wall between the chambers of the nose, at the bottom of the nostrils. It’s sometimes called a “bull ring” as you sometimes see cattle with this style of nostril piercing. It can be a bit sensitive to pierce, or if the ring gets snagged. This is the only type of nose piercing that can be made completely and truly invisible.
Bridge – sometimes called an “Earl” piercing after the first man to regularly get this type of jewelry, this piercing is done on the surface of the nose, through the skin of the bridge of the nose. This is the hardest to heal and carries the most potential for rejection or healing out.
Pink’s Tattoos – BRTU8H6T57SS
Who Is Pink?
Pink was born Alecia Moore on September 8, 1979 in Doyleston, Pennsylvania. When Pink was just a little girl, she decided that she was going to be a rock star, and she spent most of her childhood and teenage years practicing singing. She was in several high school bands, and she eventually became a backup singer for many artists at LaFace records.
In 2000, Pink released her first solo album, Can’t Take Me Home; this R&B record was produced by Babyface. Pink states she wasn’t happy with this style or image (pink hair), and she was happy when her next album featured the pop rock style she enjoyed.
Pink’s follow up CDs have been hits and include Try This, I’m Not Dead, Funhouse and Lowdown Unauthorized among others.
Pink’s Tattoos Described
Pink is known to have at least 22 cool tats, but the exact number is unknown. She has many different styles and sizes of tattoos, and has not chosen to stick to one theme or particular tattoo style. Pink also shows no signs of stopping, and has been quoted as saying she definitely plans on getting more tattoos.
In fact, Pink has said that there’s only one tattoo she won’t get – and that’s a tat of her husband Carey Hart’s name. He has many tattoos as well, and many of Pink’s name – but she feels that getting a tattoo of her husband’s name is not her thing.
Pink’s Long List of Tats
- A tribal musical note behind her left ear
- A bar code reading “1 9879-11299-1 3″ on the back of her neck
- On her left shoulder, a guardian angel
- On her left arm: a portrait of her dog Elvis, the words “Sir Corky Moore” and a date, a broken heart on the inside of her left elbow
- A razor blade on her left wrist (inside)
- A red star on her left hand
- On her right wrist: the words “What Goes Around Comes Around”, and the words “True Love”
- A symbol for love and a red heart on her lower stomach
- On her left leg: dragon on her thigh, the words “Mr. Pink” on her inner thigh, a Japanese symbol for good luck on ankle
- A Japanese symbol for happiness, a frog and two other unknown symbols on her left foot
- On her left and right big toes: a red heart on each
- Dog tags representing her brother and dad on her right ankle
- A Chinese symbol representing infinity above her right ankle
Emulating Pink
Many people choose to emulate celebrities when they get their tattoos, and since Pink’s are so numerous, there are plenty to choose from. There are a few things to remember if you are planning to get the extensive amount of work that Pink has gotten:
- Designing your own tattoos, the way Pink has for some of hers, will always make the tattoo more special. Copying the tattoos of another person image for image may lessen the effect, as well as being less important to you later.
- If you want to have many tattoos like Pink does, you may want to choose a theme or style that you will consistently work within. This can help your tattoos look more cohesive.
- Remember, tattoos are forever. While removal is possible, it is painful and expensive. Make sure the symbolism of your tattoos is something you’ll want to carry with you throughout your lifetime.
Katy Perry and Russell Brand Get Matching Tattoos Designs
Katy Perry and Russell Brand are all set to be divorced married by the end of the year, and what better testament to the their undying love than matching tattoos three inches from their respective armpits. The Daily Mail says:
Singer Katy revealed her Sanskrit inking as she performed at the launch of the Volkswagen 2011 Jetta yesterday. It was in an identical position – the inside of her right arm – to Russell’s, which he showed off on the front cover of this month’s Rolling Stone.
Both their tattoos read Anuugacchati Pravaha, meaning Go With The Flow.
Well, if there’s one thing I’ve learned after three years of doing this job, it’s that Hollywood love is forever, so getting matching tattoos is a great idea. Just ask Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards if you don’t believe me. Or you could ask Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thorton. Or Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. Or Johnny Depp and Winona Ryder, or Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, or Nick Carter and Paris Hilton, or Tom Arnold and Roseanne Barr, or Halle Berry and Dave Justice, or Jude Law and Sadie Frost, or Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro, or Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora. I’m sure they’d tell you the same thing.
Hey, remember those screen caps from “California Gurls” where Katy was naked but you couldn’t see anything? Well, now the caps are bigger, meaning you still can’t see anything — but now you can’t see anything in high-def. No charge for awesomeness!:
What Does New Katy Perry Tattoos Told About
When one think of the, I kissed a girl singer the last thing that comes to their mind is tattoos. This is the best thing about tattoos. People who you would never think to have one has one. This also just goes to show that the stereotype on tattoos couldn’t be more wrong. It is usually those shy, good girls from next door that have a secret love for tattoos. With that being said, Katy Perry does have a tattoo of her own and it just so happens to be in a rather visible place.
Katy has a tattoo on her left wrist. Her tattoo is a text tattoo, that simply says Jesus in black ink. No word on why Katy decided to get this tattoo. But there you have it she does have one. There have also been some rumors that she has a lip tattoo on her back somewhere. However, Katy does not rule out the possibility of getting another tattoo. It seems that the hot and cold singer, has been hot and cold about getting a tattoo of Freddie Mercury on her back. Katy has once stated that she looks up the former front-man of Queen and completely idolizes him. She shared that she once almost got a huge tattoo of Freddie’s face on her back, but says she decided against at the last minute. She says she is glad she didn’t do it but on the flip side she still has an urge to get this tattoo on her back. So it is pretty safe to say that this pin up style singer will more than likely add to her tattoo collection one day.
Japanese And Chinese Dragon Tattoos symbolize strength, wisdom and freedom
The eastern dragon is one of the most popular mythological creatures picked for inking and a classic choice for a tattoo design. It is usually depicted as a wingless, heavily-scaled snake-like creature with small clawed legs and a horned or antlered camel head, and is associated with sea, clouds or the heavens. Japanese dragons tend to be much more slender and fly less frequently than the Chinese dragon. The breath of the Japanese Dragon changes into clouds from which come either rain or fire. It is able to expand or contract its body, and in addition it has the power of transformation and invisibility. This is merely a general description and does not apply to all eastern dragons, some of which have heads of so extraordinary a kind that they cannot be compared with anything in the animal kingdom.
According to most sources, the Japanese dragon is closely related to the Chinese dragons, with the exception that the Japanese dragon has only three claws, while that of the Celestial Kingdom (China) has five. Both Japanese and Chinese Tattoo artists have taken the art of dragon to amazing new levels. Whether you want a full back design or a half sleeve design, you will find an incredible gallery of amazing designs to choose from. They can be in color, or black & white. The dragon tattoo may appear with sea wave or clouds or pearls. If the dragon claw holds an enormous magical pearl, which has the power to multiply whatever it touches, the “pearl” symbolized the most precious treasure: Wisdom. Ancient Dragon lore and illustrations have inspired many of us to select a dragon tattoo because that design represents how we feel about ourselves — strength, wisdom and freedom…
The popular locations for inking eastern dragon tattoos.
Asian dragon tattoos can wrap around the body and flatter the contours of the body, full body and full back dragon tattoos are quite common, and the most popular location is half sleeve, the body of the dragon wrap around the upper arm and the dragon head extend out the upper front, just above the heart. Because of the long shape of the dragon, it also suited for inking on arms and legs.

The Basel Tattoo
Every year in August, the Basel Military Tattoo is the magnet for over 80,000 people. It sounds like an old event, but it started out as late as 2006. But Basel has a long and living tradition of Pipes and Drums, so the event took to the city like a fish to water.
If you can’t manage to get tickets for the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, you might want to try to get tickets for the Basel event. I say ‘might’ because to get tickets in Basel you have less than 24 hours in which to order them, they get sold out within hours. This is not only due to local interest alone, but because the Tattoo presents an excellent program on a yearly basis. With over 80,000 visitors every year it is reckoned second only to Edinburgh in size.
While there were sporadic Tattoos held in Basel over the years, these were always organized on a one of basis. This only changed when Basel’s most famous drum act Top Secret attended the Edinburgh Military Tattoo in 2005. The organisers behind Top Secret decided at that point to add a Basel Military Tattoo to the calendar.
The event takes place in the old barracks (Kaserne) of Basel which had been converted into a cultural centre a few years back. The late 19th century structure lends itself to hosting such an event, as it encloses the old parade and exercise grounds on a lavish scale. It also has an excellent acoustic set up. It is probably the only Tattoo taking place anywhere in the world on the door steps of a mosque which is located in the old barrack buildings.
The organisers of the Basel Military Tattoo work closely with their Edinburgh counterparts, inviting the overseas groups scheduled for Edinburgh to the Basel event. As the date in Basel comfortably predates Edinburgh, overseas bands tend to accept Basel’s invitation to add additional appearances to their European venture.
Basel has duplicated the exact measurements of the Edinburgh parade ground to provide the visiting bands with an added training possibility to straighten out any trip ups prior to appearing in Edinburgh. And obviously, for Top Secret the event is the major yearly appearance in years when they are not due to appear in Edinburgh. In addition to the overseas bands, invitations go out to many European bands.
If you are unable to get tickets but still would like to get in on the musical part of the Tattoo, you should schedule your visit to Basel to coincide with the Street Tattoo during which all the participating groups present themselves in a parade through the historic city centre. Starting in the Freie Strasse they parade by way of the Marktplatz and over the Rhine River to the barracks building further down the Rhine.
For tickets, watch the announcements of the organisers closely. The tickets usually are put up for sale in December for the show of August the following year. If you miss the first 24 hours of sale, you might still be lucky in procuring one of the packaged deals, but they are quite expensive.
Gold Koi Fish Tattoo Designs
You’ve already made the first big decision to get a tattoo, now comes the time to decide on what it is you would like to have permanently inked onto your skin. When it comes to getting a tattoo, you’re only limited by your own imagination and creativity, as well as the skill and talents of the tattoo artist, of course. Today, colorful Koi fish tattoos are becoming rather popular and this special design may just be one you’d like to consider for yourself.
But what exactly are Koi? These large fish are members of the carp family, with one notable exception, they come in a wide array of different colors. Red and orange Koi are often mistaken for big goldfish, but those two are only a few of several colors, including black, yellow, blue, and white, that Koi can be found in. And, like many other kinds of fish, the environment in which they live has a great effect on their size. With a big enough pond, pet Koi fish can grow to be as long as three feet in length.
In Japan, Koi fish are highly revered. The ornamental fish have had a special place in Japanese culture for countless centuries and they continue to be bred and kept as pets.
Besides their obvious, outer beauty, these adept swimmers are also richly steeped in history and Koi fish tattoos can have quite a lot of meaning behind them, which is ideal no matter what type of art you’re getting as it’s always nice to be able to explain the unique symbolism behind a tattoo.
Here are some of the most well known meanings of Koi fish tattoos:- Ambition, determination, self improvement
- Good luck
- Freedom and independence
- Endurance, strength
- Strength of character, strong identity
- Ability to withstand dire situations
- Courage, the ability to rise above challenges
As we know, Koi can be found in a rainbow of vibrant colors and hues and are pleasing to look at as well. If you have an experienced tattooist who will be able to capture the pure beauty of the fish, you’ll end up with a gorgeous piece of art. But, do be prepared to pay the price for getting such a colorful, realistic looking tattoo.
Colored ink can be rather expensive, and when a tattoo artist uses a variety of colors on one person, whatever ink that isn’t used must be disposed of because the needle has touched the skin as well as coming in contact with the bloodstream, making it imperative to discard the ink and needle after use.
While any good tattooist does their best not to waste ink unnecessarily, it’s usually inevitable. So if you’d like a tattoo of a Koi fish that’s full of color and shading, remember that you’ll end up paying accordingly. But most Koi fish tattoos end up being incredible works of art that must be seen to truly be appreciated and can be well worth more than every penny spent.
